Playing with my birthday fabrics

 Hello everybody!

Yes, I am still working on this quilt, so I am going to continue to make you lot look at pictures of it as well. My lovely generous siblings organised amongst themselves to buy up my full wishlist of fabrics for my birthday in December, so I got these three lovely bundles to work with:

I now have enough purples and oranges to complete the quilt (although I will still need some more greys, blacks and especially whites). So obviously I've started playing with the new fabrics! Here are some new rosette centres.

But the real place I have been able to make a difference is the second large purple rosette. This rosette has been growing steadily.

I have had the skulls earmarked for this place for some time, but I didn't have the purples to put in before them.

Which means there is just one more round to go on the large purple rosette! And then I can think about joining it up with two of the smaller rosettes on one side. I think I have enough of the greys I need to join them together. I like it when I can see how the different rosettes will join together.

With these new fabrics, and all the parts I had already identified to work on, it's going to be quite a while before I get stuck again on this project, so I have lots of happy sewing ahead of me!

Thanks for reading!
